Organic Food Is Better For You

I know this isn't rocket science, but a study was recently conducted in the UK over a period of 4 years, which proved that organic foods are better for you. This is all according to an article in The Guardian by Ian Sample, "Organic Food Is Healthier: Study."

Based on early findings of the study, organic produce - fruits and veggie - could have "up to 40% more antioxidants" than their non-organic counterparts (ie. the cheap produce sold in most mass market grocery stores). In milk, the number was even higher - 60% more antioxidants and fatty acids (the good ones).

Support organic farmers.
Buy organic food.
Live longer.
Live healthier.

Seems pretty obvious.

Beyond Hope Lies

Two weeks ago I went out with my friend Claire from grad school to Snitch and drank far too much. Apparently I met a few bands/people in bands that were playing that night though, so although the evening ended pretty badly for me, two weeks later it got me a fun little gig with one of those bands - Beyond Hope Lies.

They're an emo/pop punk/rock sort of band based out of our grand lil city of NYC and yesterday they were filming a live performance of two songs for the next round of FameCast competition. I went along as their photographer and took some shots of them both before and during the taping.

Good fun, and fun pictures ensued.

we were but a brief blip in the summer sky
a passing meteor shower of innocence in a city too bright to see
alone we were magnificent
just the two of us we changed the world
but we were swallowed whole by our surroundings
and no one around us changed a thing

A Joizy Wedding

Went to a big, extravagant Italian wedding in New Jersey yesterday - as a friend, not a photographer - but there was quite a good deal of free booze and unlimited wine on our table, so I wound up taking a few fun shots in the end. Click the photo to see them all.

Halloween Hijinks

Halloween party at Ingrid's - costumes optional - resulted in a pretty large album of fun (full disclosure: and some blurry) photos. Click any of the photos to see them all.
