Saturday night, the roomies and I (minus Alex, but including Chris Z, the long-term temporary couch-crashing roommate) went to check out a place called Fat Cat in the West Village/Greenwich Village area. They have amazing live jazz every night until closing, but as we found out, on a weekend night, you better get there pretty early (think 7-8pm) to get a seat on one of the couches to listen. In addition though, they have far too many other activities to keep you busy - pool, ping pong, scrabble, foosball, shuffleboard, chess, you name it. The place was packed - with NYU undergrads because of the location... - but pretty fun and engaging. Towards the end of the evening, I hunkered down with my camera and just took some fun action shots of the boys playing ping pong.
